Literacy Studies
- More Info: CLL
Literacy is essential to learning, multidimensional in nature, and influenced by linguistic, psychological, and sociocultural factors. We prepare and support teachers and researchers to better understand pressing literacy issues and to meet the literacy needs of every student.
Our Literacy Studies program offers two degrees: an online M.Ed. in Literacy Studies and a Ph.D. in Education strand. They are taught and coordinated by faculty in our Literacy, Language, and Culture program area. Through either the master's or doctorate, you will develop advanced knowledge in the areas of teaching reading, writing, spelling, and vocabulary development. As a graduate of our master's program, you be eligible to earn the Nevada Reading Specialist Endorsement.
