Students majoring in French gain advanced speaking, reading and writing skills in the language, as well as knowledge of French and francophone literature and film.
Degrees in French
Minor in French: For a minor, 21 credits are required of which 14 must be numbered above 300.
Bachelor of Arts in French: For a major, 30 credits are required, all of which must be 300 level or above, except for the required course in culture, French 221.
Master of Arts in French: The mission of the graduate program is to educate students in French language, culture, and literature at the highest possible level, to provide students with a broad knowledge base from which to pursue more-specialized studies, and to offer a depth of experience in scholarship that will advance their future professional activities.
