Summary
Linda is an adjunct instructor of modern Arabic and culture at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she teaches Arabic language and culture with an emphasis on linguistic proficiency, intercultural competence and meaningful communication.
Born and raised in Saudi Arabia and having lived in the United States for more than 15 years, she brings a unique bicultural perspective to her teaching. Her experiences in both Saudi and American cultural environments have given her a deep understanding and appreciation of Middle Eastern and Western perspectives.
In addition to teaching, Linda has worked as a medical, legal and community interpreter and translator since 2015, providing Arabic -English interpretation and facilitating communication across linguistic and cultural contexts. This experience has strengthened her understanding of the practical use of language and the important role it plays in building connections and fostering mutual understanding.
She brings these experiences into the classroom to help students develop not only their Arabic language skills but also cultural awareness, confidence and a deeper understanding of the diverse cultures and perspectives of the Arab world.
In her free time, Linda enjoys reading, writing, snowboarding, hiking, traveling, camping, dancing and listening to music.
