Spanish Club
The University of Nevada, Reno Spanish Club is a vibrant and welcoming space where students come together beyond the classroom to build community, practice Spanish and explore the richness of Spanish-speaking cultures from around the world.
Our goal is to connect to students with one another, with the broader community and with diverse Latin American and Spanish traditions while promoting inclusion, curiosity and cultural appreciation. Through engaging and meaningful activities, members deepen their cultural understanding and form lasting friendships.
What we do
The Spanish Club is actively involved in a wide range of cultural, social and educational events, including:
- Charlas con Amigos: Weekly informational gatherings where students practice Spanish, play games and feel comfortable using the language in a supportive, judgement-free environment.
- Karaoke Nights: Collaborative events with other student organizations that bring students together to sing, eat and practice Spanish in the community.
- Spanish Medical Terminology Workshops: Practice sessions focused on medical Spanish, especially valuable for students interested in healthcare professions.
- Día de los Muertos Altar: Collective preparation of a traditional altar to honor the Day of the Dead, fostering cultural learning and reflection.
