Nelson Rojas, professor emeritus of Spanish and French, received his Ph.D. in romance linguistics from the University of Washington. His principal areas of academic research are Spanish linguistics and contemporary Latin American poetry. He delivered many conference papers and published articles in his areas of interest. He is a co-author of De una vez, Mundo 21, Mundo 21 hispano, and Gramática esencial textbooks for the teaching of Spanish.
