Summary

John Carson Pettey, Ph.D., emeritus associate professor of German, came to the University of Nevada, Reno in 1989 from Washington University in St. Louis, where he received his Ph.D. He has published works on the female aphorism, as well as on Nietzsche and García Márquez. He teaches all areas of German language, literature and culture, as well as the introduction to literary theory for departmental graduate students and Core Humanities.
