The University of Nevada, Reno’s third annual Giving Day: The Wolf Pack Way, held April 10, 2025, raised $750,645 from 1,646 donors, as of April 25. The University expressed its thanks for the generosity of so many via email: “We are filled with gratitude to everyone who has supported the current and future generation of Nevada students.”
This year’s Giving Day featured several challenges that inspired participation and unlocked additional support from the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation:
- Top Colleges & Schools Challenge: For receiving the greatest number of gifts, the College of Education and Human Development took home the top prize, followed by the School of Public Health and the Honors College, respectively earning $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 for their units.
- 50 State Challenge: For the first time, the University unlocked $5,000 for student scholarships, thanks to donor representation from all 50 states.
- Faculty/Staff Challenge: With 480 faculty/staff members making gifts — double the participation required — $5,000 was unlocked for Pack Provisions (the University’s food pantry).
- Participation Milestone: For every 150 donors, $1,000 was donated to the Student Emergency Fund, up to $5,000. The full amount was unlocked, thanks to over 1,600 donors coming together on Giving Day.
The University of Nevada, Reno Advancement team worked closely with colleagues across campus to make Giving Day: The Wolf Pack way engaging and impactful. Tracy Ostrem joined the University as vice president for University Advancement on April 1, just in time for her first Giving Day: The Wolf Pack Way.
“Joining the University of Nevada, Reno right as Giving Day unfolded was such a memorable way to begin this new chapter,” Ostrem said. “I was truly moved by the incredible energy and generosity from our campus and community. Seeing everyone come together in such a meaningful way — it really showed me what The Wolf Pack Way is all about. I’m thrilled to be part of it and so excited for everything we can accomplish together.”
