Program reaches 436 alumni as newest graduates bring leadership experience from industries across the nation

The University of Nevada, Reno College of Business celebrated the graduation of 44 students from its Online Executive MBA (EMBA) program during a ceremony and reception on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the John Tulloch Business Building.

This year's graduating class marks the 14th cohort in the program's history. Including this year’s graduates, the Online Executive MBA program now includes 436 alumni serving in leadership and management positions across a wide range of industries. The 2026 cohort also achieved a 98% graduation rate.  

The graduates represent a geographically diverse cohort spanning nine states, including Nevada, California, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois and Texas. Nevada is home to 31 graduates from communities including Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Henderson, Las Vegas, Stateline, Dayton and Washoe Valley. Six graduates reside in California, with others joining the program from locations across the country. 

Graduates enter the EMBA program with significant professional experience and leave equipped with advanced business and leadership skills. Members of the Class of 2026 have an average of 16 years of professional work experience, including an average of 14 years of experience when they first enrolled in the program. 

Eight graduates entered the program with advanced academic or professional credentials, including master's degrees, Juris Doctor degrees, and a doctorate. Previous fields of study include environmental resource management, software engineering, forest engineering, second language acquisition, international relations and nursing. The graduating class also includes two military veterans. 

"These graduates come from a wide range of industries and bring a wealth of professional experience to the program," Jim McClenahan, director of the EMBA program and executive director of outreach and engagement at the College of Business, said. "We're proud to celebrate their achievement and welcome them to our alumni network." 

The cohort reflects the broad reach of the program across industries and professions. Graduates hold leadership roles from a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, law, finance, construction and manufacturing. Their employers include organizations such as Microsoft, Google, UnitedHealth Group, the Nevada Department of Transportation and the University of Nevada, Reno. 

Designed for working professionals, the Online Executive MBA program allows students to earn an advanced business degree while continuing their careers. Through the two-year curriculum, students develop expertise in leadership, finance, strategy, innovation and organizational management while learning alongside experienced professionals from a variety of industries.
