Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN) Technology Access Grants

The Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN) is a multi-state, multidisciplinary biomedical research coalition of complementary INBRE grant-recipient states dedicated to leveraging existing program strengths, reducing programmatic redundancy, increasing biomedical research capacity for competitive external proposals and enhancing undergraduate research opportunities. RAIN states include Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Nevada INBRE is seeking applications

• Funding from the RAIN Technology Access Grants will enable Nevada investigators to produce preliminary data or proof-of-concept data needed for competitive external proposals.
• Funding may be used to access unique core resources or enhance undergraduate research experiences. Facilities covered by the funding include:
  • Alaska INBRE
    • Bioinformatics
  • Hawaii INBRE
    • Biostatistics / Bioinformatics Core
  • Idaho INBRE
    • Institute for Interdisciplinary Data Sciences (IIDS) at U of I
    • Biomolecular Research Center at Boise
    • Flow Cytometry Core Facility at Boise
    • Molecular Research Core Facility at ISU (e.g., 16S rRNAseq on MiSeq)
  • Montana INBRE
    • Community Engagement Core
    • Statistical Consulting and Research Services group at MSU
    • Mass Spectrometry Facility at MSU (e.g., Metabolomics)
  • New Mexico INBRE
    • Sequencing and Bioinformatics Core at the National Center for Genome Resources
  • Wyoming INBRE
    • Data Science Core (formerly Bioinformatics Core)
    • Transformative Research Centers at UW
• The amount of each grant will depend on resources to be used, but will typically range from $2,000 to $5,000.
• This is an open application and we welcome inquiries all year.
