How to Join Concert Bands
Auditioning for the Nevada Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds is a simple process, designed for both music majors and people of any major to participate. Regardless of your skill level, we have a place for you to play music.
For incoming University of Nevada, Reno students: Applications for all majors can be accessed through the University's application. Music majors must also take a few additional steps to complete an application.
For non-University of Nevada, Reno students: If you attend community college, or are not enrolled at the University, it's still possible for you to participate in the Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds! Simply follow the steps for non-degree students to apply. Contact Reed Chamberlin at rchamberlin@unr.edu if you have questions.
Members of the Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds must complete an audition. Live auditions for fall semester are held the first two days of the semester, auditions for spring semester are submitted by video over winter break.
After results are posted, register for your assigned ensemble before the first Friday of the semester.
