Summary
I was born and raised in Nevada, but my roots are from Mexico. I am the first niece, child, and grandchild in my family but also the first Latina to go to college. As a first generation student, I face challenges daily but that is where I have learned the most. I am currently striving to finish my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice to hopefully head to law school to become an immigration attorney and help the Latinx community. I am proud to say throughout these years I have managed to receive 12 scholarships and look forward to what the future holds for me. My journey with the Latino Research Center began by entering the Latino Student Advisory Board as a member and slowly transitioning into a social media coordinator for both the LRC and LSAB. I love dancing, spending time with family, going out with friends, and playing soccer whenever I get the chance.
Soy nacida y criada en nevada, pero mis raíces son de México. Soy la primera sobrina, hija, y nieta en mi familia, pero también la primera latina en ir a la universidad. Como estudiante de primera generación, diario me enfrento a desafíos, pero ahí es donde más he aprendido. Actualmente, me estoy esforzando por terminar mi licenciatura en Justicia Penal para con suerte, ir a la facultad de derecho para convertirme en abogada de inmigración y ayudar a la comunidad latinx. Me enorgullece decir que, a lo largo de estos años, he logrado recibir doce becas y espero con ansias lo que me espera mi futuro. Mi camino con el Centro de Investigación Latino comenzó al ingresar a la Junta Asesora de Estudiantes Latinos como miembro y poco a poco me convertí en Coordinador de Redes Sociales tanto para LRC como para LSAB. Me encanta bailar, pasar tiempo con la familia, salir con amigos y jugar fútbol cada vez que tengo la oportunidad.
