Summary
I am an international student from Ireland. I moved to Reno in 2021 as part of the cellular and molecular physiology and pharmacology (CMPP) Ph.D. program. I work on the lower esophageal sphincter and the esophagus and how motility is coordinated in these muscles. As an international Ph.D. student, I have encountered various issues that affect many of us in graduate education, both within the university and due to external factors. My priority is to advocate for graduate well-being both in and out of the lab. I am really looking forward to getting to know more students within the school of medicine and being a voice for any problems/concerns or suggestions during my time on the council!
