Unity in diversity
At the University of Nevada, Reno, we believe diversity is one of our greatest assets. Our philosophy of Unity in Diversity (UiD) emphasizes that unity is not about assimilation but instead a critical and conscious effort to promote mindfulness, understanding, and compassion among individuals and communities. We strongly believe that thinking critically about differences enhances the lives of individuals and communities and drives us to new ideas, technologies, and perspectives.
Event details
Unity in Diversity is an annual diversity engagement and fundraising event organized by the Graduate Student Association (GSA) at the University of Nevada, Reno. The event aims to promote unity through understanding and appreciation of differences. This year, we are extending the impact of Unity in Diversity to include the critical need to raise environmental awareness and help change our impact on the Earth, ensuring that diverse generations to come will be able to enjoy a healthy and comfortable environment on our planet.

Sponsorship: GSA is looking for a variety of sponsors for this event. Our budget is entirely funded by graduate student fees, which support need-based services, scholarships and awards, clubs and organizations, training and workshops, recognition events and socials, specialized programs, such as the Household Items Program, and more. University graduate students earn between ~$1600-$2000 a month, and with the current housing market and inflation, many of them are living on less than $300 a month. Your donation can truly change lives! Please contact Taissa Lytchenko at tlytchenko@unr.edu to discuss sponsorship opportunities.
