Marin Monteith

Graduate student

Summary

Marin is a graduate student at the University of Nevada and the Desert Research Institute studying freshwater benthic macroinvertebrates as bioindicators of post-wildfire water quality. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Oregon State University, where she completed an undergraduate research residency studying chemical cycling through intertidal algal communities along the Oregon coast before falling in love with the wide world of aquatic invertebrates. Her research interests include invertebrate assemblage dynamics in response to environmental disturbances and bioindicators of emerging contaminants in snow-dominated watersheds.
