A veteran teacher with the Washoe County School District, Erika Kennedy has been teaching second-year Italian language classes since 2014. She is an experienced instructor, with a deep, practical knowledge of language acquisition. Because of her day job in an ESL classroom, her lessons are interactive and hands-on. Kennedy is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, as well as Spanish. Her interests include comparative literature and secondary language acquisition in children and teens.
Kennedy graduated from IULM Milan University with a degree in foreign languages and her specialty is American Studies and Environmental Literature. She earned a M.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2002 and she has been teaching in the public school system since 2008. She enjoys vacationing to her native Milan with her daughter Julia and cooking Italian food for her students.
