Service-Learning Council

The Service-Learning Council is a collaborative, interdisciplinary group committed to integrating community-engaged scholarship through service-learning and place-based strategies. It provides strategic guidance to the Office of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships, encouraging critical reflection, and overseeing the University's for-credit community engagement initiatives, including the UAM 3100 policy. Guided by Gordon da Cruz's six major components (identify, investigate, partner, generate, exchange, and produce), the Council serves as a foundational resource for advancing scholarship in practice. Recommended readings are available below.
