Outstanding Community-Engaged Learning Faculty Award

The Outstanding Community-Engaged Learning Faculty Award seeks to recognize a faculty or teaching staff member who demonstrates exceptional leadership in community engagement or community-engaged learning, leadership, and scholarship. This award celebrates innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary teaching that fosters meaningful learning experiences for students while creating positive impact within the community.

Established to honor the vital role faculty play in cultivating civic-minded scholars and leaders, while strengthening community partnerships, the award highlights a commitment to engaged teaching and reciprocal collaboration. Each year, the recipient of this award is recognized at the Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Breakfast and receives a commemorative plaque acknowledging their outstanding contributions.

  • Eligibility: Any teaching faculty or staff who have taught or are currently teaching a service-learning or community-engaged learning course.
  • Evaluation Criteria: A committee of experienced faculty in community engagement will conduct the evaluations.
  • Nomination: The nominator completes the award application and submits the nomination by the end of the Fall semester, or by the end of March for the Spring semester.
