Outstanding Community-Engaged Student Award
The Outstanding Community-Engaged Learning Student Award seeks to recognize and celebrate outstanding student learners and leaders in community engagement, both on and off campus. Specifically, this student demonstrates high levels of engagement, a dedication to the communities they serve, and excellence in their learning and leadership abilities while working with communities. In community-engaged learning, students explore various topics and often reflect on their observations and work, creating meaningful connections through lived experiences and course content.
Established to honor the importance of student engagement, this award is vital for the development, implementation, and growth of a public university. Each year, the recipient of this award is recognized at the Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Breakfast and receives a commemorative plaque acknowledging their outstanding contributions.
