Summary

Jessica Yurtinus, PT, DPT, GCS, is the Director of Clinical Education for the University of Nevada, Reno Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. A lifelong Nevadan and physical therapist who has practiced in the Reno community for her entire 25-year career, she is a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist with extensive experience in acute care, outpatient, orthopedic and rehabilitation settings. Her professional background includes expertise in mobility, balance, fall prevention and aging, as well as more than a decade of clinical instruction and site coordination.

Before joining the DPT program, Jessica served as the Associate Director of the Nevada Geriatric Education Center within the Sanford Center for Aging. In this role, she coordinated statewide initiatives related to geriatric care and delivered geriatric and interprofessional education to more than 1,000 healthcare professionals each year. She contributed to major grants, workforce development initiatives and statewide efforts related to the 4Ms of Age-Friendly Care, mobility, fall prevention and healthy aging. Her long-standing service to the Reno community and her work at Sanford continue to guide her commitment to strengthening Nevada’s physical therapy workforce and improving care for older adults across the state.
