Summary
Sara Hanafi, MPH earned her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Since graduating from the University, she has worked extensively in the nonprofit sector, primarily in the realm of community-based advocacy and education program coordination. She has experience working with healthcare providers throughout Nevada to develop more effective protocol in screening and intervening in intimate partner violence cases. She has also collaborated with youth service providers to develop and deliver inclusive sex education programming and trauma-informed support in unhealthy adolescent relationships. Currently, she is a Public Health Diversity Advisor for the Nevada Public Health Training Center on the Health in All Policies team, working on a statewide initiative to address the social determinants of health through non-traditional and innovative approaches.
