Summary

Jasen (pronouns he/him) joined the academic team at the Orvis School of Nursing (OSN), University of Nevada, Reno in 2020 after clinical and leadership experiences as a registered nurse in upstate New York, and Reno, Nevada. After clinical experiences in critical care, emergency nursing, nurse education and nurse management, he pursued his wound care certification, and has been a passionate wound care provider since 2012. His journey brought him to Reno in 2014, where he has worked in critical care, wound care and nursing education. Professor Brooks is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion both on campus and professionally. Additionally, he focuses on wound care education, simulation technology, organ and tissue donation, and clinical experiences to enhance and enrich healthcare education and outcomes. In addition, he has the honor of being the faculty advisor for the Orvis Student Nurse's Association.
