Summary

Haley McNeil is the Director of Simulation at the Orvis School of Nursing, where she leads the design, implementation and evaluation of simulation-based learning across the undergraduate nursing curriculum. She has been actively engaged in healthcare simulation since 2018 and focuses on advancing simulation pedagogy, supporting faculty in the use of evidence-based practices, and aligning simulation experiences with national standards.

In her role, Haley oversees a comprehensive, multi-site simulation program and works closely with faculty, staff and institutional partners to create immersive, learner-centered environments that support clinical judgment and skill development. She serves as Chair of the Simulation Committee and contributes to university-wide and interprofessional simulation initiatives.

Haley is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) and is actively involved in simulation scholarship, including curriculum development. She is a co-developer of the Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialist (HSTS) micro-credential, a workforce development initiative designed to prepare individuals for roles in healthcare simulation and support the growing needs of simulation programs.

She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing (Nursing Education) from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her clinical background includes telemetry and cardiovascular nursing.
