Summary
I joined the Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Science (NRES) in 2005 as a lecturer and academic advisor. Prior to joining NRES, I taught high school science for 9 years in California and Nevada and environmental education for 3 years in Yosemite National Park. My major areas of interest are environmental science and science education. I teach the non-majors course ENV 101 (Introduction to Environmental Science) and the NRES 100 introductory course for NRES majors (Principles of Natural Resources and Environmental Science). I also teach NRES 214 (Culture and the Use and Management of Natural Resources) each spring.
I enjoy advising NRES students in three majors, serving as department scheduler, and managing department curriculum updates. I also introduce prospective students to our department on Nevada Bound tours, serve as the outreach coordinator for the University's Museum of Natural History, and as a reviewer for textbook publishers.
