Academic advisement is the key to graduating in a timely manner; it is very important for students to have regular contact with their academic advisors. In addition to focusing on University Core Curriculum and major requirements, advisement can also be the beginning of an important professional mentoring relationship, assisting students in learning more about their chosen career field.
It is the responsibility of current Geography Majors to contact their assigned advisor (see Faculty page for contact information). New or soon to be Geography Majors should contact Prof. Kate Berry to schedule an advising appointment.
Students have access to the Academic Advising Reporting System via MyNevada. This report confirms a students' progress toward graduation in their declared major.
When it becomes available it is recommended that students bring a copy of this report to advisement appointments in order to make sure that they are on track toward graduation.Projected course offerings in the Department of Geography [PDF] For an overview of the recommended courses and schedule check the University's General Catalog.
