Educating Nevada's future engineers

The College of Engineering knows that Nevada's future lies with our youngest students, and we have developed a number of programs to introduce them to engineering.

In partnership with local educators, we aim to help Nevada students stay focused on math and science, learn about the wide range of career possibilities engineering offers, and see how engineers can change the world.

From hands-on activities that make engineering accessible to elementary students to college preparation help for high schoolers, the College of Engineering is committed to developing a strong STEM pipeline for Nevada.

Our programs

Mobile Engineering Education Lab

Our mobile engineering lab brings engineering to your Washoe County School District classroom. Our students teach hour-long lessons on a range of topics, from robotics to renewable energy.

Engineering Summer Camps

Our week-long camps bring students onto the University campus and into our labs for hands-on lessons that can jump start an engineering education.

Engineering Programs Inspiring the Community (EPIC)

EPIC Labs offer a variety of engineering lessons to individual or small groups of students.

MAKErs Club

Our MAKErs Club works to promote STEM education with middle and high school students from low-income or underrepresented backgrounds.
