What will I learn in a veterinary science degree program?

The bachelor's degree in veterinary science is a four-year, pre-professional program that provides the academic background you need to apply to veterinary school.

Your coursework will focus on biological and natural sciences, and includes areas such as organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, anatomy and physiology, physics, microbiology, and animal nutrition. You'll also take general requirements including English, fine arts and more to round out your education and provide you with strong communication skills. 

To help you succeed in the pre-veterinary program, you'll receive close advising from both professional advisors and our veterinary science faculty. You can also complete internships with veterinary practitioners to gain hands-on experience and help your chances of getting into veterinary school.
