Family Navigation Network (FNN) SMS terms and conditions
The Family Navigation Network (FNN) at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) provides one‑to‑one, two‑way SMS (text message) communication between trained parent navigators and families of children and youth with special health care needs and disabilities. Messages are sent by FNN staff to provide support, information, and resources to participating families.
Opt-in. You can opt in to receive FNN text messages by checking the consent box on the FNN intake form or by verbally consenting during a phone call with FNN/University of Nevada, Reno staff (documented in our secure case management system).
Message frequency. Message frequency will vary, based on the level of support requested or required. FNN/UNR does not send mass marketing messages; all communication is individualized.
Cost and carrier responsibility. Message and data rates may apply. Please check with your mobile carrier for details on your plan. FNN/University of Nevada, Reno is not responsible for any charges from your wireless service provider. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opt-out instructions. You may cancel SMS messages from FNN/University of Nevada, Reno at any time by texting STOP in reply to any message. After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message to verify you have been unsubscribed, and you will no longer receive text messages from us. If you wish to rejoin, you may opt in again via the intake process or by contacting us.

Privacy. We respect your privacy. Mobile phone numbers, names, and personal information collected for the SMS program will not be shared with third parties, affiliates, or other organizations, except as required by law or with your explicit consent. Please see the University of Nevada, Reno’s Privacy Policy.
Supported carriers. Our SMS program is supported by most major U.S. wireless carriers. Support for SMS delivery is not guaranteed on all devices or in all areas.
Changes to terms. FNN reserves the right to update or change these SMS Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted at this page.
