Representatives from Nevada Energy, Electrify Nevada Accelerator and other tech industries learned about research assets available for academic collaborations at the Nov. 7 opening of the Nevada Power System Research Lab.

The Nevada Power System Research Lab offers industry and organizations a state-of-the-art cyber-physical power system (CPPS) testbed, integrating digital modeling and hardware-in-the-loop testing to safely develop and evaluate advanced power system solutions. Located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus and managed by electrical engineering faculty with expertise in power systems, cyber-physical systems and smart grid technologies, the Power System Research Lab allows partners to simulate and test real-world power systems without risking damage to actual hardware. The lab can simulate various scenarios from renewable integration to cybersecurity challenges in power grids.

If you missed the opening event on Nov. 7, or want more information, please visit the Power System Research Lab website or contact Hanif Livani or Mahdi Mehrtash.
