Recital Procedures for B.M. Applied Music
Candidates for the bachelor's in music performance must present a junior and senior recital. Students must register for MUS 499A, Senior Recital, during the semester in which the senior recital is given.
Junior Recitals
Voice
- 30 minutes of music
- French, German, Italian and English selections must be included
- Four periods of musical literature should be represented
- Voice students must memorize the entire recital, except for oratorio selections or chamber music
Piano, winds, strings, percussion
Requirements are at the discretion of the instructor.
Senior recitals
Voice
- 50 minutes of music
- French, German, Italian and English selections must be included
- Four periods of musical literature should be represented
- Voice students must memorize the entire recital, except for oratorio selections or chamber music
Piano
Repertoire must be memorized. Students may present one chamber work in recital that need not be performed from memory.
Winds, strings, percussion
Requirements are at the discretion of the instructor.
