Drop-in or schedule an appointment with a CLA Advisor

The College of Liberal Arts offers both drop-in and scheduled appointments to accommodate the diverse needs and schedules of our students. See which option is right for you and connect with our office at your convenience.

May 20 - August 16: Summer advising

Incoming freshmen will be invited via email to schedule their first advising appointment after they attend summer orientation. Incoming transfer students will be invited via email to schedule their first advising appointment after they accept their admissions. All other students may self-schedule via Navigate or contact our student center, based on the instructions below.

August 19 – 23: NevadaFIT week

All advising during the week of NevadaFIT is conducted Zoom.

  • Monday, Aug. 19: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 20: 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 21: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 22: 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 23: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m.

August 26 – September 6: All-access advising

During the first two weeks of the semester, we advise students exclusively through all-access drop-in advising.

  • Open to all students
  • We do not schedule individual appointments during this time.
  • Monday-Friday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Location: Zoom and in-person on the first floor of Lincoln Hall in one of the conference rooms, which are located in LH 100 and LH 102.

September 9 - December 20: Express advising or individual appointments

For the rest of the semester, we offer two types of advising: Express drop-in advising or individual appointments.

Express drop-in advising

Express drop-in sessions operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and slots may fill up before the session ends. Meetings are limited to 15 minutes with an advisor.

Self-schedule online via Navigate

This option is only available to students who presently have a major or minor in Liberal Arts. If you are planning to declare into the College of Liberal Arts, please call our front office to schedule an appointment.

  1. Log in: Net ID & password
  2. Click on "Schedule an Appointment"
  3. Under Service, select “CLA Student Center” and choose an option that describes why you’re coming in.
  4. Click “Find available time” to move forward with A confirmation email means you’ve scheduled successfully.
  5. You can also confirm that you’ve scheduled successfully by viewing your scheduled appointment under “Upcoming Appointments” which is located on your Navigate home page
