Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am an Academic Advisor for the College of Liberal Arts. I’m from Sacramento California and moved to Reno in 2020 with my teenage son. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations with a specialization in Political Theory from California State University Sacramento. I am also a current graduate student studying political geography here at the University of Nevada Reno!
As a non-traditional student, completing my Bachelor’s in my mid-30s and now a Master’s in my 40s, I have had to juggle full-time employment and raising a family while furthering my dream of a higher education. I contribute my success to personal grit and the guidance and support from academic mentors I have had along the way. Now that I am an Academic Advisor, I look forward to giving back by supporting and guiding students through their own higher education journeys.
