Summary
Hi! I'm Annie, and I was born in San Jose, California to Vietnamese refugees. However, I moved to Reno, Nevada when I was eleven years old. After high school, I earned my B.A. in English and B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno. I also attended Mississippi State University and the University of Kansas, where I earned my M.A. in English and my M.F.A. in Creative Writing. Since August 2022, I have been advising at the CLA Student Center. My favorite thing about being an advisor is working with students and discussing their degree plans and interests. This lets me see what they are passionate about.
Fun facts:
- I am an academic advisor by day, at night I am a fiction writer. I write speculative and literary realism.
- I listen to music of all genres, especially K-pop (BTS, StrayKids, ITZY, etc.)
- My favorite books are Kindred by Octavia Butler, Blue Period by Tsubasa Tamaguchi, and Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi.
