Fitness & Recreational Sports facility-use policy

Semester requests

Any recognized UNR student organization in good standing with ASUN Clubs and Organizations may request the use of Fitness and Recreational Sports space during open building hours. Student organizations will be held responsible for all costs directly related to their rental. ASUN Student Organizations may be required to submit a roster of active members that will be using the space each semester.

All requests are done on a first-come, first-served basis and you will be notified of your reservation status. You must complete the online request on our web portal.

Scheduling priority

  • Fitness and Recreational Sports Programs and Events
  • Intramural Program Meetings and Events
  • Student organizations

Student organizations will be primarily scheduled in Room A. Fitness and Recreational Sports will only process space requests for recreation type events with ten or more participants. Fitness and Recreational Sports does not provide general meeting space to student organizations.

One-time events

The facility request for one-time events must be completed online at least two weeks prior to the scheduled event. All events must submit their event and event details to the Student Event Advisory Board (SEAB) for final approval.

Student organizations are not to reserve space for events in which they are not directly involved and present. All student organizations must notify Fitness and Recreational Sports of cancelled events prior to the event date and time. It the group does not cancel an event, the estimated direct costs will be sent to the group as an invoice.

Non-UNR club instructions

Non-affiliated individuals whom are instructing Student Organizations will not be granted access to Fitness and Recreational Sports facilities automatically. The club will need to sponsor individual(s) as guests and pay the $10.00 guest fee per guest per day. All Fitness and Recreational Sports facilities have restricted access and are only for current UNR students, faculty and staff. For more information about guest passes visit our website at www.unr.edu/fitness
