Fitness and Recreational Sports: COVID-19 restrictions

E. L. Wiegand building hours

The E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center will be closed for the remainder of the semester as of 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8. 

Drop-in classes will move to virtual classes starting on Monday, Oct. 12. 

Cycle and Yoga Trapeze will not be offered for the remainder of the Fall semester.

To access virtual classes, log in to WebCampus, and visit the class labeled Fitness & Recreational Sports – Virtual Drop-In Classes.

Lombardi open swim hours

Fall hours, starting Monday, August 24

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 12‐ 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday: 6–8 a.m.; 12–1:30 p.m.
Monday – Friday: 4:30–6:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

As part of the plan for reopening campus, a mask needs to worn on the deck of the pool.   No exceptions. Please bring it with you.

Locker room are closed. Individual bathrooms are available.

Equipment checkout

Equipment checkout is available Friday, Oct., 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for current students, faculty and staff who live within a 50-mile radius. University ID is required for checkout. Checkout will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and equipment must be returned beginning Wednesday, Dec. 9.

  • Bumpers plates (Max of two 45s, two 25s and two 10s per person)

Fitness and Recreational Sports (FRS) is a university department offering Nevada students the opportunity to live an active lifestyle. FRS is housed in the E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center.
