Discover purpose, passion and possibility in Reggio Emilia, Italy

Join us for a transformative experience led by Jenna Dewar, M.S., CFLE, senior lecturer of Human Development and Family Science, in Reggio Emilia, Italy—a region globally renowned for its visionary approach to early childhood education and its deep cultural commitment to family and community well-being. This immersive journey invites students to explore their emerging professional identities in a setting that places human connection and meaningful work at the center of everyday life.

Through guided reflection, site visits, and engaging conversations with educators and community leaders, students will examine how purpose and passion can shape a more intentional work-life balance. In Reggio Emilia, the environment itself becomes a teacher—modeling how communities can thrive when children, families, and well-being are genuinely prioritized. Students will see firsthand that professional excellence does not require sacrificing joy or wholeness, and that it’s possible to contribute meaningfully to society while still feeling nourished and supported.

This is more than a study abroad trip—it’s an invitation to reimagine the kind of professional and person you want to become. With a faculty mentor guiding this reflective, community-centered exploration, students will return not only inspired but grounded in a deeper understanding of how to create space for happiness and purpose in their future careers.

Come ready to learn, reflect and grow—Reggio Emilia is waiting to show you what’s possible.
