Jennifer Shorett has worked in the early childhood education field since 2000. Her roles have included developmental specialist at Nevada Early Intervention Services, where she provided services for individuals birth to three who have or are at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. She provided case management, education support and community resources to families and worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As the director of Early Head Start, Jennifer managed the operations of the program in partnership with Community Services Agency and monitored the academic, social and physical growth of children enrolled in the center. Most recently, as a case worker for Specialized Foster Care, Jennifer was a resource to foster parents, coordinated treatment plans for children in care and supported current and former foster youth.

Jennifer strongly advocates for an educational system that provides appropriate services based on individualized needs and disabilities and is passionate about supporting struggling readers, specifically those with dyslexia. Jennifer seeks to gain a wealth of knowledge from her peers and professors, shaping the way in which she will continue to advocate for children and families within our community.
