Senior Project Coordinator

Summary

Ida Packard is a Senior Project Coordinator within the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities (NCED). She is a licensed educator, certified to teach in the elementary (K-8) setting, and is the Principal Investigator on the Education Training and Technical Support Project funded by the Office of Inclusive Education (OIE) at the Nevada Department of Education (NDE). Ida has worked on the Education Training and Technical Support Project and other NCED and NDE projects in various roles since 2001 and has received over $10 million in external funding in her tenure at the NCED.

The Education Training and Technical Support Project was established at the University of Nevada, Reno, to coordinate training and technical support on research-based school improvement efforts to support the Office of Inclusive Education’s commitment to ensuring that ALL students in Nevada are college and career-ready upon exit from the public school system, with a focus on meeting the unique educational needs of and services to students with disabilities receiving special education services in Nevada. The goal of the OIE and this project is to promote educational success through increased academic rigor; use of evidence-based practices; providing sustained professional development for administrators, teachers, and staff; providing technical assistance in data-based decision making and building meaningful partnerships with districts, schools and parents.
