Summary

Emilie Cates is an MTSS Professional Learning Coordinator for the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities PBIS Technical Assistance Center, located within the College of Education and Human Development. Her primary role is to partner with school leadership teams to evaluate and sustain Multi-Tiered Systems of Support through technical assistance, training, and coaching across Nevada. Cates focuses on the area of PBIS and academic supports within an MTSS. Cates was previously with Doral Academy of Northern Nevada in the Charter School system and Washoe County School District for 11 years in various roles. She was an elementary-level educator, leadership mentor, and coach. Cates received her Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education K-8 in 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, which she received at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2004. She also holds a Nevada License for Educational Personnel in Elementary Education with an additional credential for Special Education in Gifted and Talented.
