Summary

Brian Vasquez (vahz-kehz), LMSW is a proud first-generation Mexican American, who was born and raised in the small city of Goleta, CA. Raised in a traditional Mexican household where Spanish was the primary language, he was instilled with a deep appreciation for higher education, a cherished family value shared by both his nuclear and extended family members. Brian's academic journey saw him earn a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Addiction Treatment Services, and a Master of Social Work degree. Brian's dedication to supporting individuals, families, and communities led him to pursue a License Master Social Worker (LMSW) certification, enabling him to utilize person-centered social work interventions. In addition, Brian commits to the application of self-determination in every interaction. His goal is to ensure that marginalized populations feel empowered, connected, and motivated to lead their lives according to their own choices. Currently serving as the Case Manager for the Dean of Students Office, Brian offers resources, performs case management duties, and serves as an advocate for students.

"Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of being the first social worker that many individuals and families have encountered. Creating a safe space for them to express their concerns, emotions, and true identities has been deeply rewarding. I believe in the power of fostering meaningful relationships with my clients and stakeholders, working together to unlock an individual's full potential."

In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his two dogs, his holland lop bunny, and having get-togethers with his family/friends.
