Commitment Statement
The Office of Student Conduct acknowledges that many aspects of the student conduct process, in general, originate from oppressive systems with historical bias, created by and for those with institutional power, which allows inequities to persist. The Office of Student Conduct believes that all students at the University of Nevada, Reno students deserve equitable educational access.
We commit to working strategically and collaboratively towards the following actions:
- Welcoming students and staff to an environment where everyone is valued, heard and respected with an open-minded, inclusive and respectful attitude.
- Treating each student as an individual with rights and responsibilities and informing them of those rights and responsibilities.
- Providing information about the conduct process, from beginning to end, and offering students the opportunity to give feedback regarding their experience in the conduct process.
- Being conscious of unintended and/or disproportionate impacts of policies, procedures and/or sanctions on students and communities when enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
Our office is responsible for adhering to various laws, codes of ethics and the policies established by the University and NSHE. If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the Student Code of Conduct and its associated disciplinary process, please contact our office at studentconduct@unr.edu.
