Summary
Emma Seynaeve, LCSW (she/her) is a social worker at the University of Nevada, Reno Counseling Services. Emma is passionate about working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, interpersonal relationship concerns, and life transitions. Her style is collaborative, authentic, and often incorporates humor, which helps build a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered to take meaningful risks and move toward their goals.
Drawing from humanistic and feminist theoretical orientations, Emma utilizes an attachment-based approach. She believes therapy works best when it is tailored to the individual and strives to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood. Emma has specialized training in DBT, TF-CBT, ACT, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Emma earned her Master of Social Work from George Fox University 2020, and has experience working in community mental health and inpatient treatment settings. Originally from Oregon, she also lived in Washington and Montana before making Reno her home. She enjoys spending time with her spouse, child, dog (Feisty), and cat (Gelato). Outside of work, Emma enjoys running, strength training, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
