Summary
Aaron Blackham is a licensed clinician with over 20 years of experience working with youth, adults, couples, families, and seniors in private practice, residential, medical, nonprofit, educational, wilderness-based and public agencies. He is a former graduate student from the UNR MSW program and he also taught undergraduate and graduate social work courses at UNR for 15 years. Aaron has provided training on motivational interviewing (MI) with thousands of professionals and consultation on implementing MI into service agencies across the country. He provides a person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, eclectic, and holistic approach to working with clients and colleagues. By integrating MI, CBT, ACT, Polyvagal theory, emotional intelligence, transpersonal psychology, mindfulness and systems theory, he seeks to create a dynamic therapeutic space. He appreciates the opportunity to work with people across all spectrums of human diversity. When not on campus Aaron is likely to be found adventuring outside, enjoying live music, and practicing permaculture.
