Outstanding Administrative Faculty Awards

(Academics, Experiment Station & Extension)

Purpose

  • Recognize exemplary administrative faculty who have consistently excelled in leadership.
  • Demonstrate the value that administration places on faculty commitment to committee service; recognize and reward exemplary faculty service on Faculty Senate, University committees and Faculty Senate committees.
  • Recognize exemplary administrative faculty who have consistently excelled in their position and have demonstrated a significant impact at the University.

Eligibility

All administrative faculty currently employed within the College, full- or part-time.

Criteria

The criteria for this award closely mirror the criteria for several University-wide honors. The rationale for matching the criteria of these awards with our award is that the awardee may become a nominee for the University awards. We will help our awardee through the nomination process of the awards for which our awardee is competitive.

The criteria are:

  • Outstanding contribution to support the educational mission of the College.
  • Contributed to and demonstrated a commitment to the University's core purpose and values.
  • Positive attitude towards fellow employees, students, the public and work (availability, cooperation, courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness and presence).
  • Support for the campus community in ways that exceed expectations and result in unexpected positive outcomes that support the University's mission.
  • Demonstrated a substantial contribution to the nominee's field of expertise, a consistent commitment to professional development, exceptional leadership ability and character, as well as a performance that is above and beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Significantly improved customer service or increased customer satisfaction for specific University customers, and/or significantly improved a work process or technology, or significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or unit.
  • Demonstrated an exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication and cooperation among colleagues and University constituents.
  • Record of outstanding or long-standing service to the University as demonstrated through actions or level of participation (may include service on Faculty Senate and/or one or more University or Faculty Senate committees).

Example of questions asked about the nominee on the nomination form:

  1. Please provide evidence of how the nominee demonstrated a positive attitude towards fellow employees, students, the public and work . For example, availability, cooperation, courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness and presence. 
  2. Explain how the nominee made substantial contributions to their field of expertise, and exhibited a consistent commitment to professional development, an exceptional leadership ability and character, as well as a performance that is above and beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities. 
  3. Please provide evidence that the nominee significantly improved service or increased satisfaction for specific University patrons, and/or significantly improved a work process or technology, or significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or unit. 
  4. Explain how the nominee supported the campus community in ways that exceed expectations and result in unexpected positive outcomes that support the division/unit's mission. 
  5. Explain how the nominee demonstrated an exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication and cooperation among colleagues and University constituents.
  6. Please provide examples of the nominee’s record of outstanding or long-standing service to the University as demonstrated through actions or level of participation. This may include service on Faculty Senate and/or one or more University or Faculty Senate committees.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
