The Master of Science in Elementary Education is a degree for practicing teachers who want to improve their skills and content knowledge in particular emphasis areas such as math education, science education, or STEM education.
The Master's of Education (M.Ed.) degree in elementary education offers the candidate opportunity to become a licensed teacher at the elementary and middle school levels (K-8). This program is designed for those with a degree in another field who want to become an elementary teacher. Some undergraduate prerequisite courses may be necessary, depending on one's previous course work.
The Elementary Education program faculty also participate in the Bachelor's degree in Integrated Elementary Teaching. For more information, see the following link:http://www.unr.edu/education/academic-programs/degrees-and-programs/integrated-elementary-teaching/bs
