The Theater of War: Soldiers & Citizens Tour presents dramatic readings in order to engage communities in powerful town hall discussions about the visible and invisible wounds of war. The presentations are intended to foster understanding and compassion, and to help improve the lives of service members, veterans, and their families and communities.

The Lost Journey
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
A powerful and poignant display representing the approximately 1100 students per year lose their life to suicide. Individuals will have the opportunity to remember loved ones lost and clinicians will be available for emotional support if needed.

Open Forums on Suicide Prevention

Counseling Services invites you to join us for two open forums that will address fundamental issues of being a person, life and death and forging connections. The first talk will be "An Informal Discussion on Life and Death" at 1:00pm and the second will be "An Experiential Exercise on Forging Connections" at 2:15pm.

Film Viewing of Apartment for Peggy

Join us for this great classic movie that is a big part of UNR's history as portions were filmed here on campus! Professor Henry Barnes decides he's lived long enough and contemplates suicide. His attitude is changed by Peggy Taylor and her husband Jason, a former WWII GI struggling to finish college. Join Counseling Services on this important day in US History to bring attention to how common thoughts of suicide can be for all walks of life and how being the one that cares can save a life.
