Summary
I am a senior majoring in Biology and a first-generation student. My career goal is to become an emergency room physician. I struggled tremendously during my first two years at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Covid-19 pandemic. I had no support when I took online classes and had nobody to ask for college advice. It was challenging when I transitioned from online classes to in-person classes. My study habits were not great, resulting in failing exam grades. It wasn't until my junior year that I started fixing my study habits and earning higher test grades. After years of trying to get into a research lab, I finally received a grant to work full-time in the Riddle Laboratory this past summer. I was also a ScienceFIT pack mentor in 2022 and 2023. Starting this semester, I am a supplemental instructor (SI) leader for BIOL 315 and a team leader for SCI 110. Finally, I am planning on graduating in Spring 2024.
