Vania Carter-Strauss

Summary

Vania’s path in nursing began as a certified nursing assistant at the age of 18. After completing her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2004, she worked as a trauma ICU nurse. In 2011, she graduated with her Master's of Science in Nursing with honors from the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Her career as a nurse practitioner took her to specialties in vascular surgery, wound care, pulmonology and sleep medicine. She was honored as a nurse practitioner nominee by the Nevada Nurses of Achievement in 2017 and 2018 and awarded with the Shining Stars of Nursing 50 under 50 award from the Nevada Nurses Foundation in 2018. During her time as a practitioner in the Northern Nevada community, Vania has always loved being a preceptor for nursing students. Vania considers teaching and sharing her passion for nursing to be one of her biggest honors.
