Researcher and environmental engineering Ph.D. candidate Travis Numan spoke about climate change from an Indigenous perspective, including Indigenous burning practices, at the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), Oct. 2-4 in Chicago. Numan, a member of the Paiute and Shoshone nations and associated with the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, also participated in a panel discussion, “Exploring Indigenous Environmental Wisdom,” at WEFTEC.
