She has been awarded scholarships to examine media practices in various countries like Israel, The Netherlands, South Africa and Singapore. She was a visiting research fellow at the University of Cardiff, UK in 2008. She uses qualitative and quantitative methods and has recently started focusing on computational methods of data collection and analysis. Her research has been published in refereed journals like the Journalism and Mass Communication Educator, Journalism Studies, Journalism Practice, Media Asia and Feminist Media Theory.
