Summary
Casey Bell is author of the novel Glass Eel (UMass Press), which Kelly Link selected for the 2027 Juniper Prize and described as “numinous and consolatory in its experimental approach and audacity.” Her short story collection, Little Fury (Metatron Press, 2023), was chosen by Marlow Granados for the Metatron Rising Author Prize and was described by Leni Zumas as a “smart, unsettling marvel of feminist fabulism.” Casey’s fiction appears or is forthcoming in Prairie Schooner, Cream City Review, New South, Reed Magazine and elsewhere. Her work has been shortlisted for the Calvino Prize and the American Short Fiction Halifax Ranch Prize. Casey is co-director of GIRLS Rock Reno, a music camp for self-identified girls, trans and gender-expansive youth.
